Welcome to RESQ+ Emergency Response System ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy with a PRIVACY-FIRST approach. This Privacy Policy explains our minimal data collection practices and how we respect your personal information when you use our mobile application.
🔒 Core Privacy Principle: Emergency profile information is stored locally on your device by default. Connected features may process operational data for sign-in, alerts, notifications, media attachments, and AI responses.
⚠️ Important: RESQ+ is an emergency response support application and should not replace professional emergency services. Always call local emergency numbers (Police, Ambulance, Fire) in life-threatening situations.
2. Information Stored Locally by Default
RESQ+ keeps core emergency profile details on your device by default. That local data can include:
- Emergency Profile Details: Blood type, allergies, medications, insurance details, emergency contacts, and other profile fields you enter.
- App Preferences: Language, SOS settings, and other on-device configuration preferences.
- Local Media and Recordings: Emergency recordings and local files saved on your device unless you choose to share or upload them through a supported feature.
- On-Device Access: You can review or remove local profile data directly from the app and by uninstalling the app.
4. Data Processed for Connected Features
When you use connected RESQ+ features, related operational data may be processed to make those features work. This can include:
- Phone Authentication Data: Your phone number and authentication events when you sign in with phone verification.
- Location Data While Active: Location data when you actively use SOS, Team Connect, Global Emergency Directory, weather, or nearby-service features.
- Alert and Team Data: Team membership, alert responses, community alerts, notification tokens, and related cloud records needed for coordination features.
- Optional Media and Attachments: Voice, video, image, or other files you choose to upload or attach through supported features.
- AI Requests: Text, image, and related context sent to generate AI Emergency Nurse guidance.
- Analytics and Diagnostics: App analytics, performance signals, and technical diagnostics used to operate and improve the service.
5. App Permissions
RESQ+ requests the following permissions to provide emergency features:
- LOCATION: For SOS location sharing, Team GPS tracking, Global Emergency Directory, and Compass tools.
- SEND_SMS: To send emergency SMS alerts when you enable the feature and grant SMS permission.
- STORAGE: To save local profile data, recordings, and other files created by the app.
- INTERNET: For AI Nurse, sign-in, team sync, cloud alerts, and weather data.
- NOTIFICATIONS: For team, community, and emergency-related notifications.
You can revoke permissions anytime in Android settings. Some features may not work without necessary permissions.
7. Third-Party Services
RESQ+ uses the following third-party services to support connected features:
- Google Analytics: App usage and engagement analytics
- Firebase Services: Sign-in, notifications, alert and team data, optional media uploads, and related cloud features
- Google Gemini API: AI Emergency Nurse responses and optional image analysis
- Weather Data Providers: Forecast condition data used by weather-related tools
These services process the data needed to operate their related features under their own service terms and policies.
8. Children's Privacy
RESQ+ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have data from a child, contact us and we will delete it immediately.
9. Your Rights
You remain in control of the information stored on your device and the permissions granted to the app:
- Access: All your data is already on your device (Settings > Emergency Profile)
- Delete: Delete your profile anytime from app settings
- Export: Export supported profile data from the app when export tools are available
- Uninstall: Deleting the app removes all local data
10. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted in the app with the revision date. Continued use means you accept the new policy.
